Amsterdam, September 2011 – Walking behind your pushchair in your familiar neighbourhood makes you rediscover this surrounding with completely different eyes. The Joolz Day Expedition appeals to your urban and country discovery journeys with your child. The pushchair will not only bring you everywhere you want to go, but it also features some smart expedition extra’s on the pushchair and accessories. The chassis of the Joolz Day Expedition is shady grey which gives it the exact stylish and sturdy ‘camouflage look’ you need out there. The Joolz Day Expedition is available as of February 2012.

“You’ll probably never walk as many miles outside as you do as a young parent”, says Emile Kuenen, creative director at Joolz. “And often it feels like an expedition whether you get out in your hometown or someplace new. You experience the environment and the way you enjoy it in a totally new perspective. My inspiration for this special edition came from the city jungle life of parents or those who make their miles in the rougher countryside.”

 IT’S AN EXPEDITION

All these miles you cover walking in the urban territory, dirt roads and steep hills are true expeditions where you spot new things together with your child. That’s why the Joolz Day Expedition is designed around the human body, that of the parent and of the child. Dutch Ergonomicz as we call it. This is translated in every aspect of the pushchair. Like the high cot and seat position which relieves your back while taking your child out of the pushchair or placing him or her in it. Also, you can push your child in the Joolz Day Expedition at the table in a restaurant. The bumper bar can be opened with one hand from both sides. This prevents you from making odd body twists while placing your child in the pushchair. The extendable handle bar not only extends in height, but thanks to the ergonomically designed angle, also offers great space behind the pushchair for longer and shorter legs. And, last but not least, storage. The Joolz Day Expedition edition can be folded completely and stored upright on her two feet.

“On an expedition you need to take special gear with you, right?”, says Kuenen. “On the back of the seat and on the front of the cot you’ll find a smart little bag where you can store your most important stuff.” And on the sun hood you’ll find a strap where you can hang some much needed (playing) gear on to, to keep the passenger happy during the ‘safari’. Thinking of an expedition, you can feel the heat. For this reason, the sun hood offers a great ventilation opening made of mesh fabric for some flow of fresh air. The chassis and frame of the Joolz Day Expedition come in a special shady grey, which gives it an extra stylish and sturdy ‘camouflage’ look. The colour of the.fabric is mostly a beautiful subtle greyish green, but in some parts we made it look even more compelling by using anthracite fabric on the sun hood, cot and back of the seat. The handlebar and the bumper bar are made of comfortable leatherette in matching black snake leather, for this edition.
